This course introduces the molecular basis of evolution and examines the structure and function of nucleic acids and proteins. Topics include gene expression and regulation in bacterial cells. Laboratory exercises emphasize hands-on experience with recombinant DNA technology and gene expression techniques. CHE 221 is highly recommended.
